Eyecare Services

At Young Eyes Optometrists, we combine highly skilled professionals with state-of-the-art optical technology. We take the time to assess your eye health and vision and will discuss with you the best alternatives to help you see clearly now and into the future.

As part of the commitment that we offer all our patients, we use the OPTOS ultra wide-field imaging. The Optos uses scanning laser technology to image the peripheral retina, enabling our Optometrist to document and monitor ocular pathology outside the view of a digital retinal camera. It can be used to detect early signs of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cholesterol and high blood pressure as well as other peripheral eye conditions such as retinal tears and detachments, haemorrhages and genetic disorders such as retinitis pigmentosa.

Our optometrists may also recommend an OCT scan of the retina to further assess your macula and optic nerve. This is the newest technology in assessing the health of your eyes and vision.

Many eye conditions do not present obvious symptoms until irreparable damage has occurred. An eye test not only assesses your vision, but more importantly it tests your eye health. Regular eye tests can help to detect many eye conditions in their early stages so treatment can begin.
